1932 2.3 8C Alfa Romeo Chassis

The final subject of this trio is the 2.3 Chassis, construction follows the same practice as discussed with the earlier examples, it is shown here as the completion of my own trio of 2.3 Alfa Romeo miniature.  One point of particular interest is the position of the batteries.  The Monza has them under the seats.  On the Touring Spider they are fitted out side of the chassis frame in battery boxes that protrude through the lower part of the swept fenders.  Here and - in the manuals showing the 2.3 chassis, - they are mounted over the rear axle and sitting and bolted to a tray that spans the top of the rear chassis frame, just forward of the petrol tank.
