With the suspension in place I now proceed to fill in the remaining fitting for the chassis. The steering box and the foot brake casing are both investment brass castings, with brass and nickel silver parts added to complete them. The rear axle/gear box is bolted in place and the drive shaft to it is a sliding fit with a short length inside the gear box, so that it can be later pulled forward to engage the rear of the engine bell housing.
