The making and fitting of the ‘V’ windshield, follows the same practice, described for the rear window, with a wooden pattern and brass strip used to gauge the size of the opening, the strip then soldered in place to form the frame. A ‘T’ section bar is made from nickel silver strip and silver soldered together to form the centre post. Aluminium pattern are made up of the exact size and thickness of the glass, and used to locate a groove down the inside screen post on each side, to take a spring clip, to hold the glass in place.
